My husband and I went to Grey Sweater for our anniversary dinner on November 30, 2019. We had a reservation on the early side and were the first guests that evening. We were seated at the counter so we were able to see all the prep and interact with the chefs/staff throughout the evening. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, informative and so enjoyable!
Shortly after making our reservation, the restaurant called and asked a handful of questions. In answer to one, we told them we honeymooned in Germany. During the course of dinner, they brought out a German beer as a gesture to personalize our experience. It was so appreciated!
Twice throughout the evening, Chef Black came over to chat with us and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. It's always a pleasure to interact with the chef! Chef Black was so friendly and approachable, and when we left, he genuinely thanked us for choosing Grey Sweater and wished us a happy anniversary.
In addition to the second-to-none service, the food was INCREDIBLE. Every single course was something special and new. We dine out often and love coursed dinners like this one. We chose the 7 course dinner (for our 7th anniversary), and all seven courses were so special. Some highlights:
- The sous-vide parsnip (first course) made me wonder why I didn't LOVE parsnips all along! The texture and flavor were unlike anything I've had before.
- The scallop was my favorite course - it was the most delicious and perfectly cooked scallop I've ever eaten. I could have eaten ten of them!
- The sea bream in a carrot top "chimichurri" was my husband's favorite - with a subtle but certain background heat.
The wine pairings were perfect (we did the silver pairing) and the amaretto they finished with was another welcome surprise (who knew I loved amaretto?!)
Overall, this night was perfect and we cannot wait for a repeat very soon! -

This was a great experience. We were anticipating this opening for a long time. They did not disappoint. Every dish was an experience. We did the 10 course and it was beautiful. Every dish was surprising. The cook was great, described every intricate dish. Music was great restaurant is beautiful. Worth it.

Would absolutely recommend this place! The service was second to none, the chef's decision on the courses is so well thought out and takes your palette on a journey and I would also recommend doing the wine pairing...any level you choose is worth it!

Incredible Experience!! Chef Black puts a lot of thought, detail, and specific taste into each course. They even cater to allergies. I didn't want the courses to stop coming. The service was above and beyond!! I will definitely be returning.
